The Traffic Control Signal (TCS) Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of traffic control signal systems, with a particular focus on utilizing Lisa software, designing Traffic Light Priority (TLP) systems, and adhering to European traffic control standards and codes. The role requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and a deep understanding of traffic engineering principles.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed plans for traffic control signal systems, including signal timing, phasing, and coordination.
• Utilize Lisa software to create and simulate traffic control signal designs, ensuring optimal traffic flow and safety.
• Design Traffic Light Priority (TLP) systems to facilitate the smooth movement of public transport vehicles, emergency services, and other priority vehicles.
• Analyze traffic data and adjust signal timing and coordination strategies to optimize traffic flow and minimize congestion.
• Preferred - Utilize simulation tools to model various traffic scenarios and assess the effectiveness of proposed signal designs.
• Stay abreast of European traffic control standards, regulations, and codes, ensuring that all designs and implementations comply with applicable requirements.
• Interpret and apply relevant traffic engineering standards, such as those set forth by local transportation authorities.
• Provide expertise and guidance in developing and analyzing with Lisa software
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports related to traffic control signal designs and implementations.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of all design decisions, simulations, and field test results.
• Communicate findings, recommendations, and project updates to major stakeholders and project managers.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on Lisa software, TLP systems, and European traffic control standards, offering guidance and assistance as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in traffic engineering, with a focus on traffic control signal design and implementation.
• Proficiency in Lisa software for traffic signal optimization and simulation.
• Strong understanding of Traffic Light Priority (TLP) systems and their integration with traffic signal networks.
• Familiarity with European traffic control standards, regulations, and codes.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work remotely and collaboratively in multidisciplinary international teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Professional engineering licensure or certification (preferred).
