Material Engineer QA/QC
Job Description
- Review and approve sources of construction materials.
- Implement and monitor Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures at the project site.
- Conduct inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Supervise sampling and testing of construction materials including sand, aggregates, concrete, cement, steel, and other construction materials.
- Monitor laboratory and field-testing activities & ensure all testing and inspection records are properly maintained and updated.
- Analyze test results and recommend corrective actions when required.
- Maintain records of material approvals, test reports, and certifications.
- Prepare Inspection Requests (IR), Material Approval Requests (MAR), and quality documentation.
- Verify workmanship quality during construction activities.
- Conduct quality audits and site inspections.
- Coordinate with consultant’s and Employer’s representatives during inspections and testing.
Skills
- Knowledge of ASTM AASHTO IS Nepal Standards and project specifications
- Knowledge of construction materials and laboratory testing
- Proficiency in MS Office and engineering documentation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and reporting abilities
- Ability to work effectively under site conditions
Job Specification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering/Construction Management or a related field.
- Master's Degree in Construction Management will be an added advantage.
- Additional training in Material Testing or Quality Management is preferred.
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in road, bridge, tunnel, hydropower, or infrastructure projects.
- Experience in construction material testing and QA/QC procedures
