Legal Officer

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing legal papers and briefs, researching legal issues, and drafting legal documents such as contracts, wills, trusts, and business agreements.
  • Drafting pleadings and motions for court proceedings, including criminal charges, bankruptcy petitions, and appeals of administrative decisions.
  • Represent in court, negotiating with opposite counsel and working with clients to develop legal arguments.
  • Researching legal issues to support litigation efforts.
  • Interpreting laws, regulations, and policies to provide proper advice.
  • Reviewing and analyzing laws, regulations, and cases related to specific industries such as insurance, banking, or securities trading to advise companies on how to comply with legal requirements.

Job Specification

Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Law and must hold a valid Advocate license.
  • Experience in insurance, banking, and financial institutions, with expertise in preparing reports, advocacy, and managing events, etc.
  • Should have a better understanding of prevailing laws, regulations, and directives relating to the Banking/Insurance sector and related fields.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Nepali.
