GIS & Database Specialist
Job Description
- Manage and maintain GIS databases and spatial data.
- Collect, digitize, edit, validate, and update GIS data.
- Perform spatial analysis, geoprocessing, and mapping.
- Design and maintain geodatabases, metadata, and data standards.
- Manage spatial databases such as PostgreSQL/PostGIS and SQL Server.
- Develop SQL queries for data analysis, reporting, and validation.
- Prepare maps, dashboards, and GIS reports.
- Integrate GIS with GPS/GNSS, remote sensing, and survey data.
- Conduct GIS data QA/QC and ensure data accuracy.
- Automate GIS workflows using Python and SQL.
- Support web GIS and online mapping applications.
- Maintain data security, backup, and version control.
- Provide GIS/database technical support and user training.
Skills
- Knowledge of REST APIs and GIS data services
- Experience with remote sensing GPS/GNSS or field data collection
- Familiarity with cloud databases and data management platforms
- Experience working with large multi-source spatial datasets.
Job Specification
- MSc in Geology
- 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in GIS and database management.
- Strong knowledge of spatial databases and GIS concepts.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with databases such as PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
- Knowledge of Python for GIS/data processing and workflow automation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
