Job Description

  • Within delegated authority, General Manager will be responsible for following functions:Acts as the principal advisor to the Chief Executive Officer on all matters relating to general GIH administrative activities and is responsible and accountable to the GIH and CEO for effective general management of human, patient care, nursing services, business marketing, engineering, biomedical and facilities maintenance, housekeeping and transportation services.
  • Ensures that GIH properties, equipment are optimally allocated for service delivery across GIH departments and guides on reprioritization of resources for effectiveness of services provided.
  • Initiates the development and implementation of administration work plan and ensures coordination and monitoring of overall administrative and medical services activities and takes lead in securing the required human resources for GIH.
  • Ensures the compliance with regulatory provisions and standards. Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) and implement for smooth functioning at GIH. Establishes and maintains effective working relationship with other departments to provide a unified experience for patients, visitors and employees.
  • Maintains active communication vertically and horizontally across the organization.
  • Supports/Develops set of policies, procedures, practices, standards and tools that are consistent with hospital framework in order to ensure proper control over GIH budget, procurement, human resources management, nursing cares, asset management and facilities management.
  • Ensures compliance related to physical infrastructure, license and approval from local and regional government regulatory, safety measure and sanitation standards.
  • Develop necessary action plans to delivers quality service as per the standards and insure the patient satisfaction.
  • Provide guidance, support and supervision on patient care service, interacts with patient and patient’s visitor in OPD and IPD. Maintain effective patient relations at all levels both in-patient and out-patient.
  • Provide direction and supervision of support services departments such as engineering, biomedical, house-keeping & laundry/linen, security, and transportation and F&B department.
  • Provide direction and supervision of GIH human resource management. Maintains good order and discipline of staff under his/her overall supervision as well as line managers, supervisors and front line employees, ensuring employee development, engagement and compliance with human resource related policies and standards.
  • Ensures effective supply chain management with regular and consistent supply of general consumables, medical and surgical consumables and pharmacy items for OPD & IPD patients.
  • Provide direction and supervision of GIH marketing management and ensures effective business development program is established for GIH business promotion and expansion. Guide GIH marketing department to identify GIH’s expansion opportunities.
  • Support and advise nursing department to ensure the quality nursing care and provide the direction for appropriate patient nurse ratio.
  • Ensure consistent application to all GIH operating systems. Responsible for all department budgets management.

Education Qualification

  • Master’s Degree from recognized institutions preferably in Hospital Management or Business Administration or Public Relation or in related fields.
