Plant Manager

Job Description

Plant manager is responsible for coordinating plant operations within company policies and procedures to ensure a high level of effectiveness and efficiency. Implement the systems, procedures, and processes to manage product quality, thus nullifying the non-conformance and safety risks. Execute the production plan in line with the forecast and Supply demand.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Achieve plant operating standards with regards to quality, safety, and productivity.
  • Responsible for production reliability based on the plan from S&OP.
  • Constantly review and implement suitable plans in discussion with the management to reduce cost, waste, water, and energy consumption.
  • Plan and monitor technical and administrative activities in the plant with all departments.
  • Monitoring product standards and implementing quality-control programs.
  • Breakdown analysis and corrective action to eliminate/minimize breakdowns.
  • Ensuring preventive maintenance of all machines and strengthening asset care practices.
  • Manage the plant budget, including labor costs, equipment maintenance, and production expenses.
  • Ensure that all employees, permanent and contract, at the factory are productive and engaged.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for all employees and promote a culture of safety.
  • Ensure all statutory compliances and regulations related to product and factory operations are met.
  • Maintain GMP in Plant and maintain a healthy, positive environment in Plant.
  • Establish and maintain various ISO standards.
  • MIS preparation and review with senior leadership.

Job Specification


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Chemical/ Industrial/ Production)
  • Minimum 10 years of work experience in manufacturing & operations; in this case, at least 5 years with a food or beverage company.
  • Minimum 3 years of work in a managerial role in any of the factory functions.
  • Experience in the alcoholic industry will be an added advantage.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, decision-making, and people management skills.
  • Knowledge of beverage manufacturing operations.
  • Troubleshooting skills in packaging machines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Basic understanding of product sensory characteristics.
